HanziCrush Terms of Use
Effective 22 September 2026. These terms cover the HanziCrush app and the website hanzicrush.lampbotics.com, both provided by LampBotics LLC ("we", "us"), contact@lampbotics.com.
1. Agreement
By installing or using the app, or using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The adult who installs the app accepts these terms on behalf of any child who uses it.
2. What HanziCrush is
HanziCrush is a learning toy that teaches children aged about 3 to 6 to write Chinese characters. It is meant to be used together with a parent or guardian. It is not a school curriculum, a tutor or a guarantee of any learning result, and it is not a substitute for adult supervision.
3. Grown-ups and children
Only an adult should create child profiles, change settings, approve what a child sees and use the share and save buttons. A nickname can be anything and should not be a child's real full name. The grown-ups' screens are separated from the child's screens but are not a security lock; use your device's screen lock if you need one.
4. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your family's private, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, lend, sublicense, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app or any of its content, except where the law expressly allows it regardless of this clause.
5. Ownership and third-party content
The app, its code, artwork, recordings, stories and design belong to LampBotics LLC or to the parties who license them to us. Stroke data is derived from the Make Me a Hanzi project under the Arphic Public License; the display typeface is LXGW WenKai under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; full notices are shown in the app under Grown-ups → About & notices. Nothing in these terms transfers any of these rights to you.
6. Your content
Drawings and moving pictures made in the app belong to you. They stay on your device unless you choose to save or share them. We never receive them and claim no rights over them.
7. Content and software made with AI tools
HanziCrush was developed with Claude Code, an AI coding tool, under human stewardship: people at LampBotics LLC set the goals, reviewed the work and decide what ships. Pictures, voices and stories were likewise produced with AI tools on our computers and then edited by us. We work to keep them accurate, natural and appropriate for young children, but they may contain mistakes. Stories can be turned off in Settings. Please tell us about anything you find wrong at contact@lampbotics.com.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains that the app collects no personal data and that everything stays on your device. It is part of these terms and is available in the app under Grown-ups → About & notices and at hanzicrush.lampbotics.com/privacy.html.
9. Updates and availability
We may update the app, change or remove features, and stop distributing it at any time. Updates through an app store are subject to that store's terms. We do not promise that the app will be available or error-free at all times.
10. No warranty
The app and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and any warranty about learning outcomes. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in that case the exclusion applies to the fullest extent permitted.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LampBotics LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app or website. Our total liability for all claims relating to the app or website is limited to the amount you paid us for the app, if any, or US$10, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, and nothing limits the rights that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep all rights under your local consumer law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which deletes everything it stored. We may end this licence if you break these terms. Sections 5, 6, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, where LampBotics LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that consumers in the EU or UK also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of the country where they live and may bring proceedings in their local courts. Before any formal step, please write to us; most questions are solved with an email.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do, we change the effective date above and ship the new text in the app before releasing that version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

只应由成年人创建孩子档案、修改设置、决定孩子看到的内容，以及使用分享和保存按钮。昵称可以随意取，不应使用孩子的真实全名。大人的界面与孩子的界面分开，但这不是安全锁；如有需要，请使用设备的锁屏功能。
4. 你的使用许可
我们授予你个人的、非独占的、不可转让的许可，可在你拥有或控制的设备上安装和使用本应用，供你家庭私人、非商业使用。除法律明确允许且不受本条限制的情形外，你不得复制、修改、出售、出租、出借、再许可、反向工程或再分发本应用或其任何内容。
5. 所有权与第三方内容
本应用及其代码、插画、录音、故事和设计归 LampBotics LLC 或向我们授权的各方所有。笔画数据源自 Make Me a Hanzi 项目，依 Arphic 公共许可证使用；显示字体为 LXGW WenKai，依 SIL 开放字体许可证 1.1 使用；完整声明见应用内“家长 → 关于与声明”。本条款不向你转让上述任何权利。
6. 你的内容

7. 使用 AI 工具制作的内容与软件
HanziCrush 由 AI 编程工具 Claude Code 在人的指导与把关下开发：LampBotics LLC 的人员设定目标、审核成果并决定发布内容。图片、语音和故事同样由 AI 工具在我们的电脑上生成，再经我们编辑。我们努力保证其准确、自然并适合幼儿，但仍可能有错误。故事可以在设置中关闭。发现任何问题请告知 contact@lampbotics.com。
8. 隐私
我们的隐私政策说明本应用不收集个人数据、一切都留在你的设备上。隐私政策是本条款的一部分，可在应用内“家长 → 关于与声明”以及 hanzicrush.lampbotics.com/privacy.html 查看。
9. 更新与可用性
我们可以随时更新本应用、更改或移除功能、停止分发。通过应用商店的更新受该商店条款约束。我们不保证本应用随时可用或没有错误。
10. 无担保
本应用和网站按“现状”和“可用”状态提供，不附带任何明示或默示的担保，包括对特定用途适用性的担保和对学习效果的任何担保。部分司法管辖区不允许排除某些担保；在这种情况下，排除在法律允许的最大范围内适用。
11. 责任限制
在法律允许的最大范围内，LampBotics LLC 不对因使用或无法使用本应用或网站而产生的任何间接、附带、特殊、后果性或惩罚性损失或数据损失负责。我们就与本应用或网站相关的全部索赔所承担的责任总额，以你为本应用向我们支付的金额（如有）或 10 美元中较高者为限。本条款不限制依法不可限制的责任（包括因过失导致的死亡或人身伤害，或欺诈），也不限制消费者保护法赋予你且不可放弃的权利。如果你是欧盟或英国的消费者，你保留当地消费者法律赋予的全部权利。
12. 终止
你可以随时卸载本应用以停止使用，卸载会删除应用保存的全部内容。如你违反本条款，我们可以终止本许可。第 5、6、10、11、13 条在终止后继续有效。
13. 适用法律与争议
本条款受 LampBotics LLC 注册地——美国马萨诸塞州——法律管辖，不适用法律冲突规则；但欧盟或英国的消费者同时享有其居住国法律的强制性保护，并可在当地法院提起诉讼。在采取任何正式步骤之前，请先写信给我们，大多数问题一封邮件就能解决。
14. 条款变更
我们可能修改本条款。修改时会更新上方的生效日期，并在发布该版本之前把新文本放进应用里。变更后继续使用即表示你接受新条款。
